PROJECTS

Franklin County Career & Technical Center

Owner: Franklin County
Construction Manager: Alliance Corporation
Completion: August 2013
Value: $1,500,000.00

This will be a renovation and addition to the existing Franklin County Career and Technical Center. The state-of-the-art facility will provide enlarged learning environments for students in the Welding, Carpentry, Automotive, pre-Engineering, Information Technology, Allied Health, and Nurses Aide programs. The building itself will be a teaching tool for students by having exposed structural and mechanical building components in instructional areas so students can study design, construction, energy conservation, and sustainable environmental techniques.

The new facility will renovate the existing Career Center building and an unused portion of Franklin County High School. The addition will connect the two areas providing over 57,000 sq.ft. of new instructional area. In addition to increased interior area, a 9,600 sq.ft. canopy will be constructed over the existing student project lot. This will allow more use of the outdoor area, particularly for the welding, carpentry, and automotive programs whose students often work outside.
