Scope: Amgen Corporation is Louisville’s largest biotech company, and AES has assisted with each one of its plant expansions over the past 12 years. Two recent expansions consisted of the cold room storage facility and installation of a fifth 500 meg generator. Building power and lighting, a fire alarm system and communications raceway were included in the expansion. AES integrated the new expansion into the existing facility without interrupting power to special products in the cold room. Job hazard analysis, scope review and many other extensive details were pursued in order to develop the seamless expansion.
